Carpet Cleaning
Carpet cleaning for beautification can be achieved by several methods. For beautification, removal of stains dirt, grit, sand and allergens we have taken the time to introduce both traditional and modern ways. Clean carpets are recognized as being more healthier, visually pleasing and potentially longer-lasting than poorly maintained carpets.
Currently, Steam Cleaning is the most widely accepted and popular process. Carpet cleaning product manufacturers have spend the last 30 years creating new carpet care technologies. Encapsulation dry-cleaning and Green based products have been the main agenda for the carpet cleaning industry the last few years. Below you will find the different methods of cleaning available.
Steam Cleaning
Also known as hot water extraction, steam cleaning involves the application of a detergent based pre-spray solution. After appropriate dwell time, a pressurized manual cleaning tool passes over the carpet surface to toughly extract and rinse out all the residue and particulates.
Heavily Soiled areas (Heavy traffic areas) require the pre application of "traffic-lane cleaners" preconditioners or pretreatments. These products help to break down the soil binding to the carpet fibers over a short period of time. Application of such products consist of applying the products in the form of a spray on to the carpet before the use of the cleaning system. The amount of time the pretreatment "dwells" in the carpet never exceeds 15 minutes, and with thorough aided brushing helps agitation to ensure pretreatment works fully through the carpet.
Dry-Cleaning
To ensure effective dry cleaning results mostly rely on specialized machines. Manufactures like Brush and Clean, Host Dry and Whittaker Systems are at the forefront with the design and manufacture of such machines. Also known as VLM(very low moisture) sytems relying on dry compounds complemented by application cleaning solutions. These systems are often less labor-intensive than steam cleaning.
Dry compound
An absorbent, biodegradable powder and cleaning compound is spread all over the carpet evenly and then toughly raked and brushed. Dirt and grime form a bond with the compound which is then vacuumed off leaving the carpet clean and most importantly, immediately dry.Machine scrubbing is more widely used in commercial applications because hand scrubbing generally only cleans the top third part of the carpet.
Encapsulation
In the 1990, polymers began literally encapsulating(crystallizing)soil particles into dry residues on contact, working like "tiny sponges", the cleaning crystals dissolve and absorb dirt prior to extraction. Most work is done by machine applying cleaning solution and vacuuming. It is also a form of dry cleaning.
Bonnet
This cleaning mixture of club soda and cleaning product is applied to the carpet in the form of a mist. A industry machine with an absorbent spin pad attracts soil and will be rinsed repeatedly during the cleaning process. The bonnet method is the dead oppesite to dry cleaning and need significant drying time.
It is mainly seen as a quick solution rather than a deep clean. If the pad is not lubricated with cleaning solution it will produce pile distortion.
Shampoo
Wet shampoo cleaning followed by wet vacuuming, was widespread until the 1970s, Since there is norinse preformed the cleaning agent will continue to collect dirt after cleaning. This can lead to people thinking that cleaning your carpets makes them get dirtier faster.
